Plug-ins

Xara Picture Editor takes three types of plug-in that can extend the program, add new features and special effects.

1. Old style Photoshop plug-ins.
2. New style Photoshop plug-ins.
3. Native Xara Picture Editor plug-ins.

The least flexible type of plug-in is (1). The most flexible and powerful type of plug-in is type (3).

There are thousands of free and commercial Photoshop plug-ins available on the web, mainly of the Old Style. These provide everything from color cast correction to strange and wonderful special effects, and support for a wide range of alternative picture types.
